Eugenia T Smith
Creator of Dancing School Kids
Eugenia T Smith began studying dance at a very young age
and opened her studio which is in its 53rd year at age 14.
She was a graduate of Buffalo State Teachers College and
a life long member of Dance Masters and Dance Educators of
America.
She created the Dancing School Kids
curriculum over years of in class research to give dance
teachers fun tools to help explain and teach valuable concepts
and steps through the use of songs and dances with the
characters Rita Right, Larry Left and the other Dancing
School Kids. She has taught her Pre School Dance material
on several dance conventions such as Rhee Gold’s
Project Motivate, Hollywood Vibe, Dance Olympus, Dance
Caravan and Dance Masters. This exciting material is now
in use in studios all across the US, Canada and as far
away as Australia and the UK.
Though Eugenia passed away last year her gift of music and
dance education lives on. Her daughter Holly Humphreys continues
to teach and develop new material for Dancing School Kids
along with her son Christopher Smith the National Director
of Hollywood Vibe Dance Productions. A Volume 7 is not far
away.
We hope that you as a teacher will
have fun educating the young dancers of tomorrow with this
fun material and we wish you as Miss Genie always did “Happy Dancing”!
